How To Wind Down On Sunday Night For A Great Start To The Week?

Your week has been busy. You cracked your neck and knuckles and you worked your butt off; be it as a 9-5 worker or a freelancer. You worked and your worked and now, your body is sour as if you have worked out for hours and your mind is fried; which as a result led you to apply the jam first instead of peanut butter (I don’t know how many of you encountered that situation but if you did, then girl, you seriously need to wind down)

What you need is a bit of a break and that can only happen once a week. So why not make that one day count? Why not make it special and all about YOU so that you can get your brain working again for the next week? Yes, you have work, I understand. We all do but trust me, doing these things which I’m going to list down will improve your productivity, make you less lazy, make you more focused, and maybe even make you a better cook! Just kidding, us writers are one of the best chefs you can find out there and all we read are recipe books, watched anime, or binge-watched on Zumbo’s just desserts!

Anyway, back to the point. Our brain needs to rest too and we should take care of it just as we take care of our pets. Our brain is our pet and I might sound crazy to you but believe me, you’ll be thanking me at the end of the post because this article will change your Sundays into fun and stress-free days!

Go To Sleep Early:

This way, you can feel more energetic throughout the day and get more work done.

Cut Out Caffeine:

Believe it or not, caffeinated drinks are our biggest enemy. Sure, it keeps our brain active but it also messes with our sleep pattern, preventing us from getting the 6-7 hours sleep which we desperately need for our minds to clog smoothly.

Set Up An Alarm:

Even if you’re not an alarm person, it’s better to set up a time and wake up at the first one or two rings instead of hitting snooze. It will also be a good habit for you in the future.

Enjoy A Meal:

With you being busy during the entire week, you’ll feel good to make a meal and enjoy it with your family. You can try making new dishes or help your family in the kitchen or maybe even go out to a restaurant and just forget about your work for a while.

Workout:

Working out is proven to make you feel less stressed so take out at least 15-20 minutes of your time to get your stiff body stretching and sweating!

Relax:

You can take a warm bath, go for a spa, or get your nails done. You can even just put on some music and dance your stress off in your bedroom (if you’re too shy) or enjoy a movie time alone, with your significant other or with your family! Sundays are supposed to be all about you so even if you think you have work, just remember that this day won’t come again.

You can even light up scented candles and read a book for a while with a cup of your favorite tea or coffee. You will feel really good and since you’re distracting your mind from working and being all lazy, you can get more work done starting next week.

Set Up Your Weekly Plan:

Take some time out to write down whatever you need to do during the entire week so that you won’t get stressed when a new week starts. This way you can also get more things done and check out all the stuff that you thought you didn’t have time for! Make sure to note down your errands, social events, appointments, and activities.

Doing the abovementioned things can help you start your week with a boost and positivity. You can be ready to jump at work without any worries and you will also be able to more productive and prevent yourself from procrastination.

You know there is one other thing you can do on Sundays and that is to head to my Etsy shop, PoetNextDoor, and buy a digital poetry print that you can hang in any part of your house!

So what are the things that you like to do on Sundays to start the week off right? Let me know in the comments!

How To Wind Down On Sunday Night For A Great Start To The Week?

Sunday | June 16th | 2019

I slept late last night so I woke up late as well at around 10:30 am or something. I actually woke up because I was hungry. I don’t know how my brain worked even though I was super sleepy and I wanted to sleep some more.

Sometimes It really amazes me to just think about how our fabulous and miraculous the human body is.

So, I woke up, brushed my teeth and made myself some breakfast which was my Gluten-Free bread with a fried egg.

Yes, you read that right. Gluten-Free bread. I bought it from an online store and although my mom and dad don’t like it, in my personal opinion, I think it’s super delicious! Even more so when you spread butter on it.

(Gosh…I’m hungry now…Do I go and eat a slice of my Gluten-Free bread now?)

Anyway, I started watching the K-drama, Miracle that we met, and I’m already on episode 4 now. It’s a really interesting drama and I’m totally loving it! But I’m eagerly waiting for Kai to talk dammit! He has only appeared a few times but hasn’t said a single word! Ugh…it’s driving me crazy!

Honestly, I’m watching the drama just for him so…yeah.

I had myself some me time since my dad and sister were still sleeping. They too hadn’t slept well last night as the movie which we watched, Alpha finished at around 1:30 am at night.

Alpha too was a great movie. It was inspiring and it gave me an insight into humanity. It’s such a great story.

After watching and eating my breakfast, I went back to my room and slept because my eyelids were super heavy. I usually don’t sleep but I did and I am glad that I did because in the evening, I had to make dinner for my family and if I hadn’t slept in that half hour, my dinner would’ve been a disaster!

In fact, it was already terrible but I tried my best to save it.

I made Chicken Tikka Masala with white rice today and sadly…it didn’t go well. The curry became a bit too tomato-ish, leaving behind a rather sweet and tangy taste behind.

I should’ve taken care of the measurements but…guess sometimes, somethings just don’t work out. But the chicken was cooked well and although my sister and dad complained that it was sweet, they still ate it while licking their fingers…

I don’t understand why they ate it but they still ate it and I’m glad that there’s only a little bit leftover because no matter the outcome, I prepared the meal wholeheartedly.

My sister said she would eat the leftovers though. *sniffs* poor thing…

I was doing so well these past few days but I guess today just wasn’t my day. I became really disappointed in myself and I regretted giving such a not-so-tasty-but edible dish to my family.

However, I won’t give up! I will do my best to serve my family well from now on! I must work hard to make them proud and achieve a Michelin Star! (just kidding, I’m no star…just someone who suddenly got the passion for cooking.)In the end, all was well. We ate and we went to our rooms to do our work. I also started watching

“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” but I haven’t completed the first episode yet so It’s hard to tell whether I will like it or not. The ending of the episode must always be left at a cliffhanger so that the viewers will be eager to click the next episode!
I guess this summarizes my day for today. I am sleepy but In a few hours time I must wake up again so I’m thinking of not sleeping.

Sleep is for the weak anyway, right? I wonder who said that…Probably some insomniac (not insulting those who are suffering from insomnia. Just saying)
So, with that, I shall end my post now. I have so many things to tell you guys but hey, we have all day, every day, don’t we? You’ll come back here again, right? To read my articles even if they’re boring?

If you do, then man, I love you and your family as well because they grew you up so well!

Until then,

Peace neighbors,

See you in my next post~

My Life: Ramblings Of My Mind

Good morning guys, I hope you all are having a great day! I deeply apologize for not being able to update my blog regularly like I used to. Reason being that my hands and mind is on a tight schedule. I won’t disclose what I’ve been doing since I don’t really like to brag about myself, but I finally decided to at least boost my blog with this mini post and in flow let you know that I am still alive!

Life hasn’t been easy these past couple of days. Sometimes hope rises, sometimes it crashes. Sometimes there are good news, other times, no news (which is also good news, but it only makes the heart restless) We human beings are created with so little patience. It’s pretty hard to suppress your feelings and put on a smiling face but you do it anyway. I kept and keep telling myself that everything will be alright because I do believe that everything WILL turn out alright and that a road without any oil spill or thorny bushes is right ahead of me. All you have to do is keep going, no matter how hard it is for you, or how exhausted you are. You GOTTA keep walking. You HAVE to reach your destination. You can’t book a ticket and not get on the plane, right?

I’ve been staying strong and I’ve been trying to move forward with all my might. Sometimes (most often) I just want to close everything and lay down on my bed and just doze off to another world. But you know what stops me from doing that? Guilt. Yes, the moment I spend ten or twenty minutes doing nothing, I start to feel guilty that I’ve been wasting my time and that I could’ve at-least written three to five hundred words in those ten-twenty precious minutes…

Don’t even ask how I or the other writers are surviving. We’re always the one chasing, and remarkably the ones catching too. We are a game of cat and mouse itself.
Alas, there’s nothing anyone can do to get us out of our messy situation.

But you know what? With Hardship comes Ease.
That’s the beauty of it.
That’s the sole purpose of tiring ourselves. We need that satisfaction. That rare feeling of happiness that seldom blooms. Only those who don’t give up midway can taste that sweetness of success. Only those who don’t stop doing what they are meant to do can at long last sleep continually for days and wake up knowing that “OMG YASS!” They have done it.

Nevertheless, it doesn’t stop there.
No, that merriment, that seventh heaven feeling is only there for a few days because knock knock, another project, another story, another venture is on your door.

That’s Life.
Or you could say, that’s the life of a writer.

But I’m pretty sure all those who’re working; be it freelancer or plain 9-5 business individuals, they go through the same emotions and stages as we do.
Perhaps they have more severe episodes, or maybe less, nonetheless, what matters is that we stay strong, we hold on, we don’t drown, and we move on until we see the break of dawn.

Anyhow, I’m sorry for rambling but I also feel good to just spill my feelings and thoughts here. My head and heart feel light and possibly, I can take a nice little power nap and then wake up refreshed and get up to work! (Like a miner)

I want you guys to stay persistent too! Don’t give up! Never!
If you do, I guarantee that you’ll regret it. If not more, at the least an ants weight you’ll regret it.

Do. Not. Give. Up.

May your dreams come true!

That’s all I’ll say for today. Thank you to all those who’ve read this, understood this, pondered upon my words and were glad to see me post again.
I’ll try to be active on my blog! (No promises though, I don’t like making promises that I know I can’t keep)

Peace neighbors,

See you in my next post~
