How To Wind Down On Sunday Night For A Great Start To The Week?

Your week has been busy. You cracked your neck and knuckles and you worked your butt off; be it as a 9-5 worker or a freelancer. You worked and your worked and now, your body is sour as if you have worked out for hours and your mind is fried; which as a result led you to apply the jam first instead of peanut butter (I don’t know how many of you encountered that situation but if you did, then girl, you seriously need to wind down)

What you need is a bit of a break and that can only happen once a week. So why not make that one day count? Why not make it special and all about YOU so that you can get your brain working again for the next week? Yes, you have work, I understand. We all do but trust me, doing these things which I’m going to list down will improve your productivity, make you less lazy, make you more focused, and maybe even make you a better cook! Just kidding, us writers are one of the best chefs you can find out there and all we read are recipe books, watched anime, or binge-watched on Zumbo’s just desserts!

Anyway, back to the point. Our brain needs to rest too and we should take care of it just as we take care of our pets. Our brain is our pet and I might sound crazy to you but believe me, you’ll be thanking me at the end of the post because this article will change your Sundays into fun and stress-free days!

Go To Sleep Early:

This way, you can feel more energetic throughout the day and get more work done.

Cut Out Caffeine:

Believe it or not, caffeinated drinks are our biggest enemy. Sure, it keeps our brain active but it also messes with our sleep pattern, preventing us from getting the 6-7 hours sleep which we desperately need for our minds to clog smoothly.

Set Up An Alarm:

Even if you’re not an alarm person, it’s better to set up a time and wake up at the first one or two rings instead of hitting snooze. It will also be a good habit for you in the future.

Enjoy A Meal:

With you being busy during the entire week, you’ll feel good to make a meal and enjoy it with your family. You can try making new dishes or help your family in the kitchen or maybe even go out to a restaurant and just forget about your work for a while.

Workout:

Working out is proven to make you feel less stressed so take out at least 15-20 minutes of your time to get your stiff body stretching and sweating!

Relax:

You can take a warm bath, go for a spa, or get your nails done. You can even just put on some music and dance your stress off in your bedroom (if you’re too shy) or enjoy a movie time alone, with your significant other or with your family! Sundays are supposed to be all about you so even if you think you have work, just remember that this day won’t come again.

You can even light up scented candles and read a book for a while with a cup of your favorite tea or coffee. You will feel really good and since you’re distracting your mind from working and being all lazy, you can get more work done starting next week.

Set Up Your Weekly Plan:

Take some time out to write down whatever you need to do during the entire week so that you won’t get stressed when a new week starts. This way you can also get more things done and check out all the stuff that you thought you didn’t have time for! Make sure to note down your errands, social events, appointments, and activities.

Doing the abovementioned things can help you start your week with a boost and positivity. You can be ready to jump at work without any worries and you will also be able to more productive and prevent yourself from procrastination.

You know there is one other thing you can do on Sundays and that is to head to my Etsy shop, PoetNextDoor, and buy a digital poetry print that you can hang in any part of your house!

So what are the things that you like to do on Sundays to start the week off right? Let me know in the comments!

Why? | A Thought | Personal Article

I can’t believe how people can change so much…The people you think they are, aren’t actually showing their true selves to you. They talk behind your backs, they say abominable things, they just rip your apart from the face of the Earth but when they come face to face, they are all smiles and rainbows…

Why? why the two-face? why not say whatever it is to our faces? Why not just say that you don’t like us and that we should just go away. Why do you backbite about us? say the things that aren’t true or mix falsehood with the truth?

What did we do wrong? did we hurt you? did we tell you something that wasn’t appropriate? no…all we did was stay with you so that you could feel safe. so that you wouldn’t be alone and isolated in this sudden outbreak that’s keeping us locked up in our homes.

Why do you do this to us? we trusted you so much. we thought you were good, we thought you were the nicest person and we thought that you loved us…but in the end, you turned your backs on us. All of you.

All you care about is yourselves and money. you used to respect us but when we lost everything, you decided to just throw us off the cliff and look at us as dead animals; or even worse…

thought so many good things about you. I trusted you, loved you with all my heart, and now…I just feel like I can’t trust anyone right now. Why do I have to go through this? Why is God testing me like this? Why did you change? or were you like this from before but now, your true colors are showing?

All of you…Why? Just because we’re another religion? just because we have different beliefs? different God? Why…?

It hurts.

It hurts so much…

I know I shouldn’t and don’t want to be too personal in this blog but I can’t help it…I must write this so that I can feel better. So that people will know that there are no more good and Merciful people here. That all we have is ourselves, God, and the closest people such as your parents and siblings.

you can’t trust anyone blindly these days. they will talk to you nicely at first but you will never know what goes around behind the scenes…it’s dirty, it’s disdainful and it’s not right. it’s unfair.

after all that we’ve gone through together…this is how they pay us back. with harsh words…words that they don’t know that we know what they said.

I might feel better after publishing this…I might not. But at least I will know that some (if not many) will read this. I don’t know, maybe I’m just looking for some comfort, for some love…maybe I’m just looking for some help but in the end, I hope this article will reach you so that you can know my thoughts and feelings right now.

Thank you for reading.

Don’t worry, I am okay.

My 7 Favorite Ways to Recharge My Energy Levels

At some point in our lives, we are all drained. We all need that little break, that little breathe in and out and some cold water to flush out the stress from our mind.

Below I’ve listed my favorite ways that I use to recharge my energy levels after a long day or week.

1) Exercise – I am a fitness freak and if I don’t workout for even a day, I feel unhealthy and my body and mind begins to some what crumble. I know it’s weird but if you’re a fitness freak too, you’ll understand what I’m saying.

2) Eat a dessert –Desserts are love and even though I’m on a diet, eating some sweet is the only way I can sometimes forget about my stressful day and start a new and fresh one. Eating desserts gives me inspiration and though I feel guilty after eating it, I try to ignore that feeling and just be happy.

3) Journal – If nothing works, what I do is sit down with my colored pens and washi tapes and just doodle or write something in my journal. It really helps me to forget whatever tension I have on my mind. It’s kind of like a distraction and I really enjoy journaling.

4) Dance –This is one of my favorite ways to recharge myself. I love dancing and at the same time sweating it out. Just grooving to my favorite music makes me happy and enthusiastic. Just a little note, I actually had dreams of becoming a dancer but…eventually, I became an author haha.

5) No phones –Just putting aside my phone for a day is such a relief. I get a little whacky if I don’t check my phone often but just to be on the safe side, I grab my gameboy or playstation and just play some games to pass my time and forget the worries of this world.

6) Reading –Another great way I use to recharge my mind. Reading takes me to a whole other world and sometimes I’m happy to forget about this one. Currently, I’m reading Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix.

7) Planning –At first, I thought this wouldn’t work, but when I started planning what I had to do the next day and the day after, my life got a whole lot of easier and some of the stress that I had actually left me for good. A kind of energy surged inside me the next day and I actually did what I wrote/planned I would do.

So guys, these are some of my ways which I use to recharge myself after a long hard day. I hope you will apply these ways to your life as well if you still haven’t and I wish you all the best for everything!

I wonder what your way of recharging is? Let me know in the comments!
And if you still have some time, do check out my previous post, 9 Things I Like About Myself.

Until then,

A Troubling Event…

The thing that has been on my mind since the start of January is…The news about EXO’S Kim Jongin and BLACK PINK’S Jennie dating!

When I first saw the news, I was so devastated. I love Kim Jongin. Like so much that I can’t imagine him being with someone (not that I am a Saseng or something) I just truly love him and I couldn’t accept the news.

I still have my doubts that the news is just a rumor and that maybe they just said it for some kind of a distraction. But still, I just hope the news is false because neither Jongin nor Jennie told anything about them both.

I won’t be able to tell you how much Jongin means to me. I feel that he’s a piece of my heart that has been lost…My soul-mate, you know? I know, you guys might think that I’m over-exaggerating and stuff, but that’s just how I feel and there’s nothing you guys can do about it.

Yes. I am a big fan of Jongin and yes, like everyone else I think of a future that might turn out hopeless, but I’m trying. You have no idea how much I’m trying…

I’m also sad because gosh, I love Jennie so much. She was my second best in BLACKPINK after Rose and now…I can’t even say her name properly because when I do, the dating news just flashes in front of my eyes and I don’t really like it. Saying her name or even thinking about her pains me.

Ugh, it’s just so frustrating! I just wish someone would tell me what really is going on…Jongin recently uploaded his Instagram after like 15 days but he didn’t say anything. He only posted photos of his and his nephew and niece.

I miss Jongin when he used to upload day after day and I just hope he is doing well. I’m worried about him and although he looks happy in his recent SMTOWN Concert, I just feel that he has a lot to say…A lot to explain.

But no matter what, I will always be on Jongin’s side.

KIM JONGIN, 사랑해

18 Ways to Relax After a Hard Day

Who doesn’t want to take a break? We all need that deep sigh, that moment when we breathe in deeply and exhale softly. That moment when we forget that we have a pile of work/homework to finish.

Some people don’t know how to take a break so they end up stressing themselves even more. It’s not right for your mind or body because us human beings need to have a calm and relaxed mind to get work done.

So in today’s post I am going to tell you 10 ways you can relax after a long and a hard day.

  • Pray. It really helps. It will help take your mind off unnecessary things and will help you feel better.
  • Have a cup of coffee/tea.
  • Watch a movie at a theatre. Have a large bucket of buttered or caramel and cheese popcorn for yourself!
  • Draw. Doodle. Scribble.
  • Play games. Not on your phone but on your gaming console! Keep your phone aside, okay? Because you don’t want your friends messages distracting you while you’re trying to shoot your freaking opponent!
  • Take a nap. Yep, a nap definitely sounds good.
  • Buy jigsaw puzzles. I heard that it’s a great way to help you relieve stress.
  • Go shopping. Buy a small gift for yourself. Make yourself happy.
  • Go for a drive. I do this all the time because fresh air is what makes me feel good after long hours of writing in my dark room.
  • Light perfumed candles.
  • Eat junk. Sometimes junk food is good for your mind, body and soul.
  • If you have any pets, then play with them! They will surely make you feel alive again.
  • Read a good book.
  • Write in your journal. Pour your thoughts out. Write your dreams, goals and successes.
  • Dance the night away! Who said you need to be a great dancer like Kim Jongin to actually get up and shake that butt? Nope, that’s a myth because like my favorite fitness trainer, Keaira Lashae quoted, ‘If you can move, you can dance!’
  • Read beneficial articles.
  • Gaze at the stars because they are beautiful and honestly, you’ll feel relaxed in no time. If you want, grab your boyfriend or friend or spouse or whoever and look at the stars with them.
  • Last but not the least, take a hot bath. Hot baths help release the tension in your body and loosens the muscles. It’s also a great way to ponder upon the good things you have and to strive to achieve further greatness. After all, good things always start with a good thought.

These are some ways I use to relax and I recommend them to you as well. I hope this post was helpful and I pray that you guys have a great day. Forget all the bad things. Be optimistic. Be positive and all your stresses will feel as if they are just gums you have to chew and then throw away.

Peace neighbors,

See you in my next post~

My Gratitude List

You don’t need to be grateful solely for the big things. I don’t know if you believe in God or not, but if you do, then you need to realize that he has created you and given you so much; sometimes better than other people. You’re alive and breathing and that’s what you can ever be grateful for. You’re not out there in a war, fearing the outcome, but you’re here, in your home or your office and reading this post because you just happened to stumble upon it.

Trust me, this is not a lecture, and I don’t actually have the right to lecture any of you, but this is just a friendly discussion, an inspiring and motivating thought that might or might not change the way you think about your life, or your future.

Being grateful is difficult for many people. Be it on getting a new job with less salary or getting a second-hand denim jacket from your cousin. But think about it, so many people don’t have a job, and even if they do, you’re getting paid more than they will ever do. So many people don’t have clothes to wear, but you’re getting an awesome jacket even though you didn’t ask for it. Why then can’t we appreciate the little things? Is it that hard to smile and be happy with what we have? Yes, we’re struggling, but after hardship, there’s always ease, isn’t there?

Sometimes, I myself get frustrated with the things I want, with the way I want things to be, but then somehow or someway I get reminded that no, you’re living your life fairly well and that right now what you have is what you must be grateful for. Life has its up’s and down’s, but if we aren’t satisfied with our lives now, then we won’t be in the future either. It’s going to ruin our life, and the next thing you know, you’re on your death bed, depressed and guilty because you didn’t enjoy the little moments or weren’t grateful with the things God had already bestowed on you. Again, this is not a lecture, just my thoughts.

So, what can you do to be grateful? To feel contented? To be always smiling and not worrying about tomorrow or next week?

Well, I don’t know if you’ll heed my words or not, but what you could do, and what I often do, is make a gratitude list. You could do it every day, or every week, or every month, but you should do it because in our busy lives and occupied minds, we forget what we’re truly missing. The tiny elements is what will make our lives better, and trust me, you won’t regret it. Furthermore, there’s no harm in making such a list is there? All you need is a pen, a paper, and some alone time and you’re good to go!

As for me, I’m always cheerful and elated because I value the smallest of things that happen to me, be it a kind comment on Instagram, or a smile from my mom.
Here is my gratitude list that gives me the strength to never give up, to keep thanking God for giving me such a life and to strive to keep it that way or make it even better.

  • Tea in the morning with brown bread and eggs.
  • Scrolling through Kim Jongin’s photos.
  • Flowers that sway with the wind.
  • The smell of my cat, Ginger.
  • Witnessing the sunrises and the sunsets.
  • The heavy rains that drench me, the darkness that surrounds and gives me the urge to drink hot chocolate or coffee.
  • Learning lessons from the mistakes that I’ve made.
  • The people on Social Media who make us laugh, who listen to our daily affairs and who are ever ready to stay awake and talk about useless stuff.
  • Bear hugs from my sister.
  • Watching Movies/Drama’s and playing games with family.
  • A family night out that’s always unplanned!
  • Hot showers while it’s raining outside.
  • Recalling our previous accomplishments; be it big or small.
  • Being healthy.
  • A home.
  • Having grandparents. A loving family.
  • Understanding that its no use stressing over our lives and that if we just wait patiently, everything will eventually fall into its places.
  • Eating chocolates.
  • Eating healthy, delicious food.
  • Watching the moon and the stars while your mind is completely free from all thoughts.
  • Getting mutual and financial support from your family whenever you need them.
  • Being able to help others; be It through writing, poetry, or just simple words.
  • Abundance love.
  • Abundance happiness.
  • Abundance faith.

What I need you guys to do now, is grab a book and a pen, or your laptop, sit down and write the things you’re thankful about, or things you truly appreciate in your day to day hectic life.
You’ll feel good and you’ll feel more content with the way you’re living. Perhaps, after making this list, you’ll get a goodnight’s sleep, at long last.

Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever made a gratitude list or not, and if not, promise me that you’ll make one right now after reading this post!

Peace neighbors,

See you next time~
