The Big Heart | Poetry

When you open your heart,
You can change the world,
And not just minor changes,

But big ones,
Ones that will be heard and seen by many,
Ones that will be on every newspaper article, on every magazine, on every bricked wall that you pass by,

Ones that will be carved on your tombstone and on the bricks that would be made in your honor.

When you open your heart,
You’re not only asking for change, or an idea, or something significant,
You’re asking for leadership, for justice and for abundant love from strangers.

Love letters, threat letters, these are all a part of your big heart,
Bloodbath and confetti, it’s what you must get used to.

Big heart is what will change this big world,
Big heart leads to big success.

Poetry | May 9th |

In the end,
we’re all awake now,
just twisting and turning in our beds.

The moon is nigh,
the cicada’s chirp at night,
the soft breeze calms our nerves,
but what good is it to have no one beside?

Is this reality or just a dream?
we hope it’s a dream because we’re afraid of being alone,
dying alone.

We’re afraid of drying without seeing anyone else besides us.
Why do we fear death so much?
Why do we fear the soft and tranquil night that helps us sleep?
Why are we always looking to find someone?
Why do we fear the most beautiful thing?
