11 Writing Tips That Will Make You A Better Writer

A good writer listens to others; they take each other’s advice, they lock their pride and they humbly reach out for help. Yes, we have ego, we hate suggestions and we stress over petty things and we get annoyed easily.
But, sixty percent of the writers are pretty good at taking good advice and implementing them.

Anyway, my point is, if you want to be a good writer, you don’t need to listen to others. In fact, you can do it yourself. Let me give you a few tips that’ll help you become a better writer (if you’re too shy or too narcissistic to take help of others) P.S. I’m talking about the majority of writers including me, so don’t hate me.

  • 1)
  • Choose a book title that will not only grab the reader’s attention but will make them feel something. It should make the reader confuse, or sad, or happy!
  • 2) This is the most important point of all. Organize your ideas before you begin writing. I regret not using this point the first time I began writing my novel…
  • 3) Add your own style and voice to your writing. Sure, you like Agatha Christie or Roald Dahl or John Green, but you can’t be them to make a book of your own. You need to be you so that people can recognize who you are and not just some copycat or wannabe.
  • 4) Make sure you stick to the point. Don’t write unnecessary stuff that’ll take a page or two without it making any sense or point.
  • 5) Use your words wisely. Keep sentences and paragraphs short but make it meaningful. Like Poetry.
  • 6) Read a lot. Read. Read. Read. That’s what everyone says, and they say that because it’s the truth. The more you read, the more your writing will improve.
  • 7) Reread and revise your writing. Don’t be lazy. Edit calmly and gingerly.
  • 8) Don’t be afraid of what people will think. They will think a million things but it’s up to you how you’ll make change their thinking. Forget the comments, who needs comments? You just want to get your story on the page, right? so do it and don’t stop.
  • 9) Always remember the six senses. Describe your characters, your actions and your surroundings well.
  • 10) Add a little humor. Yes, even if it’s a murder mystery or a horror book. No one likes a serious novel.
  • 11) Last but not the least, dude, enjoy what you write because if YOU don’t enjoy your story, then you can’t expect others to enjoy your story. Write scenes that make YOU happy, that make YOU sad, that make YOU angry.

Use these tips and I promise you, you’ll write a best-seller in no time. It takes time and patience, but you’ll get there. Eventually.

Peace neighbors,

10 Important life lessons love has taught us

Love. You get this excitement when you hear this word, right?
When you think of love, you think of commitment, patience and endurance.

Love is something precious, something that every individual is gifted with. That’s something, okay? If there was no love, then it’s obvious there wouldn’t have been you and me.

Being in love teaches you so many things. You go through tough trials together, you motivate and inspire each other, you help each other.

But sometimes, it just doesn’t work for some people. Love is something you have to experiment with. You cannot know it unless you investigate it yourself. There will be heart breaks, sleepless nights and gloomy days, but in the end, you’re left with a lesson to learn.

Let me list ten significant life lessons that love has taught us; be it a small point or a big.

1) Empathy – When you love someone, you don’t and can’t see them cry or get hurt. If they’re happy, you’re happy. If they’re sad, you feel sadder. So you do everything in your power you can to make them happy because you regard their feelings just as you would regard yours.

2) Decide – It’s up to you to choose if you love that person or not. The controller is in your hand, you’re the player. You have to choose to love them, or leave them. Listen to your heart.

3) Feel good – There’s a huge advantage in being in love and that’s feeling good whenever you’re with them. Nowadays, it’s what we all need. To feel good, to feel loved. If you feel good, then you’ve found the right person to spend your life with.

4) No expectations – When you love someone till the moon and the stars, you can’t expect them to love you the same way. You can’t expect to get an extra slice of cheesecake just because you love it. No, it’s all about giving and acting whether that person recognizes your sincerity or not.

5) Acceptance – Love means accepting their flaws, their mistakes, differences and the list goes on. If you truly love them, you need to accept them the way they are because isn’t that why you fell for them in the first place? There will be differences, but you just close your eyes and accept them.

6) Commitment – Love is not temporary. You can’t use it and then throw it away as if it was an torn, stinky sock. Love is not chemistry or infactuation. You need to promise to stay by each others side NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS!

7) Attention – The person drowning in true love never gets bored of giving all their attention to that particular individual. They want to make them feel that they’re near them, watching, feeling, sensing and not just ignoring because you’ve done your job of confessing. It’s not a task, it’s just something you like to give.

8) Time – Love takes time to grow. You can’t presume someone will love you at first sight. No, you need patience and perserverance. You need to give it a little time for it to develop.

9) Selflessness – You make them your priority. You solve their problems first, you make them feel happy and cherished. Real love isn’t selfish.

10) Limitless – Love is unconditional. There’s no expectations or limits set. You just love them for they are. You don’t care about their background or their past. You just love them and that’s the beauty of it all.

P.S. Bonus tip, love also means letting go. If you truly love that person, then you won’t chain them up in your room or tie a rope around their waist. You’ll let them go, you’ll set them free and if they come back to you, then I guarantee that that’s true love. But if they don’t, then it was never meant to be.

“Love is freedom and deliverance not possession or obsession.”

5 Ways I Can Start Taking Care Of Myself

Nobody’s life is perfect. Everyone is stressed, worried and just trying to live their life as simply as possible. Even though we all smile, we are sad, angry, and just fed up of the burden collecting on our shoulders. Consequently, all of this makes us anxious and greedy and selfish. At least that’s what I think because I know how desperate a human can get to achieve what they want to achieve.

However, I have realized that taking things in this life seriously will do you no good. Whatever happens, happens with the Will of God and I truly believe that God is the Best of the Planners.

So, here are 5 ways I think I can start taking care of myself this year.

  1. Be more Patient. I am a very hasty person. I want things to get done quickly and I think that’s my biggest flaw.
  2. Be more Hopeful. I am also slightly pessimistic. Not to the extent where I might end up committing suicide but sometimes, I get so stressed that I end up thinking that there’s nothing more I can do now.
  3. Work more. I procrastinate a lot and that’s the thing I hate about myself. I know that I have a lot to do but eventually, I end up watching Korean Drama (I’m not addicted to My ID is Gangnam Beauty! Oh my gosh, it’s such an amazing drama!)
  4. Be more Positive. My sister always tells me things like, ‘Faith can move mountains,’ and ‘Where there’s a will, there’s a way.’ and I like to hear those words from her because it certainly gives me more positive vibes and I feel good throughout the day. I don’t know what I would’ve done without her but when she’s married and gone off, I need to remind myself these things every now and then so that I don’t become depressed. (If you leave me be, I get quite depressive at times.)
  5. Listen to my body. I’m very conscious of my body and if I even miss a few extra days of workout, I get really really really stressed about it. So even when I’m not feeling well or have a headache, I still workout and that just leaves my body even more tired. That’s another flaw I have and It’s hard to get rid of but I’m trying now. I don’t want my health to deteriorate and I hope whoever reads this post, will stay healthy as well!

I know it will be hard for me to follow these steps but I’m confident that I can become a better person. I just need some time and I’m good to go.

Are there any different ways you guys take care of yourself?
If yes, then please do let me know! I would love to try your way as well!

Until then,

Peace neighbors,

See you in my next post~

If you don’t then that sucks because I certainly love cold evenings! They are the best because I love winter season and I get to do so many things that make me happy! And sometimes when it’s super cold, we don’t even go outside because we are all kind of lazy and just want to stay warm. So;

Let me list down the things that you can do on cold evenings~

  1. Read a mystery book.
  2. Bake cookies
  3. Or try a new recipe!
  4. Wrap yourself in a warm blanket and watch romantic movies/dramas
  5. Play games with your friends/family; especially board games.
  6. If you don’t want to drink something hot, then eat ice cream! (I sometimes do that)

  8. Or you can play video games because what better way to spend a cold evening if not winning Battle Royale?
  9. If you’re alone then try journaling because just getting your thoughts out will make you feel much better than you did a minute ago.
  10. If you’re spending the evening with your spouse or boyfriend, then this is the perfect time to eat your favorite cake and open up. Share your feelings, thoughts and just let it all flow.
  11. And if you’re a workaholic/Author/Blogger/Vlogger like me, then do those stuff because sometimes we just don’t like wasting our precious time, right?

My Favorite Children’s Book

I love reading children’s books even now because they are filled with so many morals, emotions and actuality. You can somehow relate to the main characters, you can easily sympathize with them, you can feel yourself being in their shoes.

I know that favorite means having only one thing, but I can’t just choose one and leave the rest because that doesn’t seem fair to me…

These are the books that I still read now and then :-

  1. Matilda – by Roald Dahl
  2. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – by Roald Dahl
  3. James and the Giant Peace – by Roald Dahl
  4. Diary of a Wimpy Kid – Jeff Kinney
  5. Malgudi Days – R.K Narayan

As you can see, I’m a huge fan of Roald Dahl because I’d read his books the entire time I went to school, and I love the way he imagines things, you know. If I ever got the chance (which I would never) I’d dive in his mind and see what goes in there.

Anyway, what is your favorite children’s book? It can be just one or more.
I would love to know about it.

Peace neighbors,

30 Things I want to do this Fall!

Fall is my favorite season. The world is painted beautifully with shades of bright orange and subtle red. It’s the perfect time to capture moments with your friends, family or your lover.

Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.

– F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Fall is a beautiful season. It’s filled with love, endless memories and most of all, unlimited hot chocolate with double whipped cream topped with cocoa powder and chocolate shavings. I know the rule is to drink everything pumpkin spice, but sometimes, we must break rules, hon.

This fall, I wish to do a few things that I haven’t been able to do it the last year and some things I hope to repeat because why not. Things like;

1) Visiting a corn maze.

2) Apple picking – I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be fun.

My Gratitude List

You don’t need to be grateful solely for the big things. I don’t know if you believe in God or not, but if you do, then you need to realize that he has created you and given you so much; sometimes better than other people. You’re alive and breathing and that’s what you can ever be grateful for. You’re not out there in a war, fearing the outcome, but you’re here, in your home or your office and reading this post because you just happened to stumble upon it.

Trust me, this is not a lecture, and I don’t actually have the right to lecture any of you, but this is just a friendly discussion, an inspiring and motivating thought that might or might not change the way you think about your life, or your future.

Being grateful is difficult for many people. Be it on getting a new job with less salary or getting a second-hand denim jacket from your cousin. But think about it, so many people don’t have a job, and even if they do, you’re getting paid more than they will ever do. So many people don’t have clothes to wear, but you’re getting an awesome jacket even though you didn’t ask for it. Why then can’t we appreciate the little things? Is it that hard to smile and be happy with what we have? Yes, we’re struggling, but after hardship, there’s always ease, isn’t there?

Sometimes, I myself get frustrated with the things I want, with the way I want things to be, but then somehow or someway I get reminded that no, you’re living your life fairly well and that right now what you have is what you must be grateful for. Life has its up’s and down’s, but if we aren’t satisfied with our lives now, then we won’t be in the future either. It’s going to ruin our life, and the next thing you know, you’re on your death bed, depressed and guilty because you didn’t enjoy the little moments or weren’t grateful with the things God had already bestowed on you. Again, this is not a lecture, just my thoughts.

So, what can you do to be grateful? To feel contented? To be always smiling and not worrying about tomorrow or next week?

Well, I don’t know if you’ll heed my words or not, but what you could do, and what I often do, is make a gratitude list. You could do it every day, or every week, or every month, but you should do it because in our busy lives and occupied minds, we forget what we’re truly missing. The tiny elements is what will make our lives better, and trust me, you won’t regret it. Furthermore, there’s no harm in making such a list is there? All you need is a pen, a paper, and some alone time and you’re good to go!

As for me, I’m always cheerful and elated because I value the smallest of things that happen to me, be it a kind comment on Instagram, or a smile from my mom.
Here is my gratitude list that gives me the strength to never give up, to keep thanking God for giving me such a life and to strive to keep it that way or make it even better.

  • Tea in the morning with brown bread and eggs.
  • Scrolling through Kim Jongin’s photos.
  • Flowers that sway with the wind.
  • The smell of my cat, Ginger.
  • Witnessing the sunrises and the sunsets.
  • The heavy rains that drench me, the darkness that surrounds and gives me the urge to drink hot chocolate or coffee.
  • Learning lessons from the mistakes that I’ve made.
  • The people on Social Media who make us laugh, who listen to our daily affairs and who are ever ready to stay awake and talk about useless stuff.
  • Bear hugs from my sister.
  • Watching Movies/Drama’s and playing games with family.
  • A family night out that’s always unplanned!
  • Hot showers while it’s raining outside.
  • Recalling our previous accomplishments; be it big or small.
  • Being healthy.
  • A home.
  • Having grandparents. A loving family.
  • Understanding that its no use stressing over our lives and that if we just wait patiently, everything will eventually fall into its places.
  • Eating chocolates.
  • Eating healthy, delicious food.
  • Watching the moon and the stars while your mind is completely free from all thoughts.
  • Getting mutual and financial support from your family whenever you need them.
  • Being able to help others; be It through writing, poetry, or just simple words.
  • Abundance love.
  • Abundance happiness.
  • Abundance faith.

What I need you guys to do now, is grab a book and a pen, or your laptop, sit down and write the things you’re thankful about, or things you truly appreciate in your day to day hectic life.
You’ll feel good and you’ll feel more content with the way you’re living. Perhaps, after making this list, you’ll get a goodnight’s sleep, at long last.

Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever made a gratitude list or not, and if not, promise me that you’ll make one right now after reading this post!

Peace neighbors,

See you next time~
