The Big Heart | Poetry

When you open your heart,
You can change the world,
And not just minor changes,

But big ones,
Ones that will be heard and seen by many,
Ones that will be on every newspaper article, on every magazine, on every bricked wall that you pass by,

Ones that will be carved on your tombstone and on the bricks that would be made in your honor.

When you open your heart,
You’re not only asking for change, or an idea, or something significant,
You’re asking for leadership, for justice and for abundant love from strangers.

Love letters, threat letters, these are all a part of your big heart,
Bloodbath and confetti, it’s what you must get used to.

Big heart is what will change this big world,
Big heart leads to big success.

The Sister Bucket List!

Side by side or miles apart, sisters will always be connected by the heart.

We all have a big sister that hits us when we do something wrong and a small sister that annoys the heck outta us. But, no matter how overly caring or absolutely maddening they are, we love them and imagining life without them is in fact, impossible for us.

I have a big sister and like every sibling, we fight but we make up. We fangirl over things, we work out together, we do Karaoke when mom and dad are not home and we play Just Dance to our heart’s content! Oh, we also discuss important, heartfelt matters in the middle of the night. There’s nothing more gifted than having a sister who you can share your deepest secrets with. She will listen to you, she will give you hope, she will fight for you until the end and she will catch you when you fall.

What my point is, sisters are just damn amazing.

I know, what I said above was deep and all but in the end, after publishing this post, I’m gonna have a fight with my sister over something silly and probably after a few passing moments or when mom catches us fighting, we will get back together as if nothing happened.

Being on the same note, I have a tiny wish list of things that I want to do with my sister. Things like having an Asia tour or going on a road trip or going to our favorite band’s concert! Hopefully, one day we will be able to do all these but for now, let me give you a list of what you can do with your sister before you and she get separated or something…Just kidding…

Anyway, let’s get to listing~

  1. This one’s a must. Okay? A MUST! Go on a frickin road trip together cause that’s something where you can really create memories. Grab your car keys, grab your polaroid camera and just get the hell out of your house and out in the open road!

  2. Do you both love cooking or baking? If yes, then why don’t you try taking some cooking classes together or baking a cake or any sort of experimental desserts at home? That’s a fun way to pass time with your sister but don’t blame me if the kitchen gets messy.

  3. Call your sister right now and make an album of your favorite photos together! Decorate it with funny words and doodles and just laugh it off~ If you have already done it, then just strike this part away.

  4. You’re gonna like this one. Attend a weekend music festival. Yes, if you wanna go, don’t go with your best friend but go with your sister because best friends come and go but sisters stay for a lifetime! Sorry, that just came out of nowhere but the thing with going with your sister is that you’ll have her to talk about your favorite band mate for the rest of the days until you get tired of it yourself and trust me, she won’t even complain because she’ll be in it with you too~ *winks*

  5. Ooooo, this one’s pretty awesome. Dance a choreography together! Yaass! It’s just perfect and a mixed with fun and waves of laughter! At the end of your amazing routine, I’m sure you both will feel super proud to have done something together and that’s something you need to have

    as

    a memory~

  6. Have a drama marathon together. Pop some popcorn, grab your

    colas

and watch until dawn because that’s just how we have to roll.

  7. Don’t forget to take a great photo together, alright? Memories are everything.

  8. And last but not the least, treasure your awesome relationship every single of the day!

Sisters are our first friend and second mother.

Grandparents

Having Grandparents is the greatest gift anyone could ever ask for. It’s like having a guardian angel beside you to protect and prevent you from doing anything wrong and harmful.

Some people are quite unfortunate that they don’t get to see their grandmom and grandpa after their birth and that’s pretty sad because the joy of having grandparents is utterly infinite.

Also, some people just don’t care about their grandparents. They see them as just some ‘old people with memory loss problems’ but it’s not their fault. When you grow up, man, you’re going to have the same damn problem then let’s see whose grandkids treat you like you treated your own guardian angels.

My point is, grandparents are a gift. Don’t lose that gift. Their love is boundless, don’t throw it away, please. Your grandparents care for you. Your grandmom cooks your favorite food or bakes your favorite cookies and you might not remember it but when you were a baby and your mom wasn’t there to take care of you, your grandmom would stay awake for hours and hours just to sway you in her delicate arms and give you a goodnight’s sleep.

And your grandpa, he must have thought you so many things, must have given you so many good advices and bought for you so many toys just to see your cute little smile.

It’s concluded, they are the best. Grandparents are a piece of your heart, if you don’t have that piece of heart, your life isn’t complete.

Take care of your grandparents. Give them lots of love, lots of kisses and tell them, “I love you,” Every chance you get because you might never know when the world around you will start to shatter into a million pieces.
