50 THINGS TO DO ON YOUR BUCKETLIST AFTER LOCKDOWN | 2020

This pandemic has kept us all on our toes, hasn’t it? It stripped us all of our happiness because we aren’t able to explore the places we thought we would this year, we aren’t able to meet our friends and check-off all those amazing restaurants and cuisines we thought we would try, and we surely can’t even meet our family because apparently, we can’t risk them getting sick just because we’re in need of some picnic or adventure.

However, things are slowly beginning to settle in and I think slowly, the flights and other means of transportations will open soon too. Meaning, there’s still hope for us to complete our bucket list but of course, it wouldn’t be the same. There will always be the masks, the gloves, the sanitization, and the six or twelve feet distance.

But that’s okay. At least you will be able to relax your nerves and give some beauty to your eyes, right? It’s really been so long so here I am today with a bucket list for everyone to use or to give you all an idea if you’re thinking what to do after the lockdown is over. (hopefully)

China’s Concentration Camps | #SaveUyghur

*Trigger warning – mention of sexual assault and torture.*

Today, I want to bring to light the things that are going on in China’s concentration camps. Uyghur and Kazakh Muslim people have been getting detained in the Xin-Jian region of China and are being forced into government-mandated concentration camps as an excuse to re-educate them.

Official documents had been released as well by BBC Panorama but China’s UK ambassador dismissed the documents as fake news where it was shown how the inmates were locked up, indoctrinated, and punished.

A number of prisoners reported being forced to eat pork, drink alcohol, and denounce themselves as Muslims. BBC reported that the camps were high-security prisons where strict discipline and punishments are executed with no room for escape.

In fact, to even be permitted to eat, the prisoners must sing songs that promote the communist party. Syragul Sauytbay, a 41-year-old Kazakh Chinese who escaped from the camp stated that the camps were in horrible condition with a lack of health care, crowding, and almost nonexistent hygiene.

It’s estimated that were around 2,500 prisoners at the camp from the ages of 13 to 84 and were punished for everything.

“Anyone who didn’t follow the rules was punished,” Sauytbay said, adding those who didn’t learn Chinese properly or who didn’t sing the songs were also punished. Punishments included being deprived of food or getting their fingernails ripped out, or much worse than that.

Sautbay was even forced to witness a gang sexual assault while at the camp in front of 200 prisoners and the guards would often look back to see the reaction of the prisoners whereupon those who turned their heads, closed their eyes, looked angry or shocked were taken away and were never seen again.

Business Insider reported that according to Haaretz, prisoners were forced to take pills and were given shots as medical experiments but were kept in the dark as to what the procedure did. The Washington Post also reported forced abortions and contraceptives. Muslim women aren’t even allowed to wear hijab unless they’re 45 and above.

Prisoners are forced to abstain from daily religion and are told that they can’t survive without the communist party. The camps have first been on-going since 2017 and currently, over 11 million people have been placed in the camps.  It was also reported that the students were only allowed to see family members once every two weeks and that they were forbidden from speaking the Uyghur language.

It’s really sad and devastating to realize that some countries are supporting such cruelty towards the Uyghur Muslims in the name of re-education. No one deserves to be persecuted for religious beliefs and it’s morally and ethically wrong and disgusting. No one deserves to suffer just because they’re Muslims or any other religion, gender, or race. They have destroyed mosques, religious symbols, and violated human rights.

This is unacceptable and we all must strive to stop such acts no matter how many other people support it. Even though the Chinese government has completely cut off contact with the outside world, depriving us of donating/aiding to those who are suffering, here are some more things that you can do to help them.

  2. Donate in the Launchgood campaigns and at Uyghur Human Rights Project.
  3. Spread the word on social media. No matter how many followers you have, share it and let even that one follower of yours know about what’s going on.
  4. Write to your local officials to raise awareness about the happenings in Uyghur.
  5. Pray for our brothers and sisters in Islam and hope that Allah puts an end to their troubles and sufferings.

5 Tips On How You Can Change Your Life!

1. Wake up early:

Waking up early gives you a chance to be productive while everyone else is asleep. It gives your mind the boost of creativity it needs, it gives you more time to plan out things and waking up early means that you’re serious about your work/business/job/career. It’s not an easy task to wake up early but those who do, they always climb the ladder of success.

2. Look Good:

Yes, this may sound strange but taking your time to look good will help raise your self-confidence, motivate you, and will trigger your mind into thinking that today is an important day; a day you shouldn’t miss out on.

3. Make time for yourself:

I believe this is the most important aspect of our lives as we get so busy with our daily life/work that we forget to make time for ourselves. Selfcare is truly important if we want to reach our goals and fulfill our dreams. We must take at least 10 minutes every day to journal, to smile, to do something that makes us happy and you will soon see a change in your life because you’re not just working your butt off but you’re rewarding yourself for it as well.

4. Make time for workouts:

I am a fitness freak and if I don’t work out even for a day, my body literally breaks down and I feel stressed, bloated, and unhealthy. As a result, I am unable to work properly and I tend to get a lot of writer’s block (apparently, I always have to resort to caffeine for that which is very unhealthy) So, get your body moving; be it for a walk, jog, or just going for grocery shopping. Do not be lazy because a moving body gives you a productive mind. Working out is beneficial for your body and not only will it make you look better but feel better too.

5. Identify Your Goals:

This is another crucial step you must take every single day. Knowing your goals and dreams is significant if you want to see successful results. You need to plan your day, week, month, and year accordingly, you need to adjust your lives and you also need to tend to your daily needs without making others frown. How are you going to do that? by planning and by having a strong and positive mindset. You can’t just break down because you chose this path and you must reach your destination. How long will you stay in a hotel or Airbnb? Not long right? Think of your life that way and pursue your goals. Recall why you’re doing what you’re doing and trust me, you will be in charge of your mind, not the opposite.

Source: Unsplash

I hope you will use these 5 tips daily in your life and won’t give up because giving up means you’re losing the opportunity to make a name for yourself, to stand out from the crowd, and to make people realize that they can’t just look down upon you. So what’s it gonna be? wake up early and work? or sleep and watch your dreams fade away?

It’s your choice.

10 Tips To Make The Most Out Of This Ramadan – 2020

As-salamu-alaykum my dear brothers and sisters. I hope you all are having a wonderful Ramadan.
Yes, some of us may be away from our family but don’t worry, Allah will soon bring us all together In Sha Allah. All we have to do is be patient and make lots and lots of Dua.
During this lockdown and self-isolation, we must stay calm, stay safe, and since we’re all in our homes, we must do as much ibadah (worship) as we can so that we can get most of the rewards which we didn’t get from our previous years.

The kabaah in makkah
The Kaabah in Makkah. May Allah give us all a chance to see His house.

Related: A Beautiful Hadith for a Saddened Mother.

Allah the Almighty has given us this chance to worship him even more, to make dua for the things we don’t have, or are in desperate need of and to pray for our Akhirah.
He has given us this chance to turn back to Him, to love Him, to have a deep and touching conversation with Him, and to know that He is the Most Merciful and the Oft-Forgiving.
Laa Ilaaha Illa Huwa meaning none has the right to be worshipped but He.
So brothers and sisters, let’s make this Ramadan the best Ramadan of our lives. You never know when you will die or when you will get ill and be unable to fast so make every day count.

Break your fast with fresh dates and water. It’s Sunnah!

Tips For Making The Most Of This Ramadan:

1) Read More Quran
2) Be patient. Do not get angry on little things and always have a smile on your face.
3) Sleep less and pray more.

4) Help your mother or any other family member in preparing for Iftaar.
5) Make lots of Duas. Make dua for yourself, your parents, and the ummah. Seek forgiveness of Allah repeatedly and never lose hope of Allah’s Mercy.
6) Give in charity.
7) Pray Tahajjud (Night prayer)

Night prayer
You can even hold the Quran while praying so that you can read longer Surahs and attain more Khushu in your Salah
8) Make dua before breaking the fast. Allah will never reject that dua.
9) Always be sincere in your intention. Remember, we’re fasting for Allah only and none else. We are not fasting to show off or to diet. We are fasting because Allah the Almighty has commanded us to.
10) Always be happy, keep a smile on your face, and thank Allah to give you a chance to live in this blessed month because there are so many people out there who haven’t gotten the chance to fast, give charity or ask for repentance.

May Allah make this Ramadan easy for you and us. May He reward us for all our good deeds, forgive us for our bad deeds and may He prevent us from the burning fire and admit us into Jannah. May Allah accept all our fasts and may He cure the ones who are ill and are suffering from illnesses, diseases, and Corona Virus.
Ameen.
Jazakallah Khairun, my dear brothers and sisters, and Ramadan Mubarak.

STOP! WE ARE NOT FOR SALE

India; especially West Bengal and followed by Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat are known for Human Trafficking. Apparently, it’s a reproductive justice issue because the victims are not just selected on random; rather they are either already exposed to gender discrimination, oppression or economic injustice.

People of all ages are trafficked through India for commercial sexual exploitation, forced marriage and forced/bonded labor such as domestic workers, servants, and beggars, while others are sold as armed combatants by terrorists and agitators.

The traffickers lure the parents in the name of poverty, education and a better life for their kids or sometimes use force, threats, lies and other psychology intimidation to recruit, transport and exploit their victims to work or prostitute just to attain a profit. In fact, 80% of people who are trafficked in India are female and 50% are children. They suffer from mental issues such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, lack of control and physical issues like TB, HIV and other STDs.

Human Trafficking isn’t a natural occurrence, rather it’s a choice that can be immobilized by taking measures such as raising awareness, strengthening the law enforcement system and observing the borders in order to ensure effectual stoppage to the trafficking.

Hate it but don’t Vape It

Did you know that there are currently 1 billion smokers worldwide? And as the rise of vaping among teenagers continues, it’s no doubt that the number will gradually increase. The teens have begun to vape either because they are pressured by its trend or believe it to make them look cool.

E-cigarettes are a battery-operated device that emits doses of vaporized nicotine and non-nicotine mixtures. They resemble conventional cigarettes but without burning tobacco.

The majority of the teenagers these days are vaping due to the fact that 1) it’s flavorful and is 95% less harmful than smoking and 2) It’s aimed to provide a similar sensation to inhaling tobacco smoke.

However, in September 2019, Federal and Health Authorities investigated an outbreak of a severe lung disease that was linked with e-cigarettes and other vaping products.

Although many believe that they are the better alternative to quit smoking, there is a manifest risk and a negative impact on the users such as lung and bladder cancer and heart diseases.

Furthermore, e-cigarettes contain nicotine which is highly addictive and can trigger changes in the adolescent brain. The e-cigarettes also produce an aerosol that contains solvents, toxicants, and flavorings which are more likely harmful.

India has already banned E-cigarettes and the authorities are tightening the regulations to discourage young people from using them, but is that enough to stop those who are addicted? Can you guarantee that they won’t use Tobacco in the form of cigarettes which is a far worse substitute and is easily at one’s disposal?

However, here are some ways we can help people quit Vaping.

  1. Talk to them and change their perspective about vaping.
  2. Join them in counseling sessions.
  3. Help them look into Nicotine replacement therapy.
  4. Lastly, surround them with positive people.

10 Quotes that will raise your Confidence

Do you ever just feel as if you’re no good? As if the world doesn’t understand you? Well, you’re not alone.

We all feel that way sometimes. Some more often than others. But we can’t let that stop us, can we? We can’t let our lack of confidence stop us from achieving our dreams. We must fight the fear in us, raise our head and walk tall on this earth. Not proudly but confidently. It’s what matters the most. What doesn’t matter and what you shouldn’t care about is other people’s thoughts. Their thoughts will only bring you down and you don’t want that. You want to win so you better read these quotes which helped me become confident or at least gave me an insight and a head start.

Quote 1: People will judge you no matter what you do. Might as well do what your heart is telling you to.

Quote 2: Self-Confidence is the best outfit. Rock it and own it.

Quote 3: Confidence is the ability to feel beautiful without needing someone to tell you.

Quote 4: Own who you are.

Quote 5: Confidence has no competition.

Quote 6: Don’t regret the past. Just learn from it.

Quote 7: It’s okay not to have everything figured out.

Quote 8: Don’t ignore your own potential.

Quote 9: The sooner you start believing in yourself, the sooner you’ll start seeing the results.

Quote 10: Inhale confidence, exhale doubt.

Do not let anyone crush you or break you. You’re on your own and remember, you don’t need anyone else but you. So you must be strong, you must keep on fighting and getting up no matter how many times you fail or fall.

My Favorite Disney Movies (Part 1)

I am not a movie geek but just like everyone else, I love watching a good movie. I know that some of the movies that I will list, might not be to your liking because no doubt, everyone has their own likes and dislikes. But still, I propose you continue reading this post. Who knows, you might find something that we both like in common! I don’t even watch movies that much unless it has good reviews, or the trailer is like super epic. Additionally, I’m very choosy when it comes to watching movies. Sometimes I have this urge to watch an action film, but when I’m just getting ready to watch that movie with a bucket of popcorn, my mind dramatically changes, saying, “Why you watching an action movie? Watch a romance movie!” Seriously, it’s so annoying because I had been wasting my precious hour to find the right print with the right subtitles of the freaking action movie!

Sorry…I just hate it when that happens.

However, strangely, I happen to like and watch more Disney based movies. That’s what’s magical about Disney; anyone can watch it. Be you young or old, you will understand and feel the emotions the characters are feeling. I love Disney but unfortunately, I have never been to Disneyland… Let me just go inside a hole and cry….

An Important Person in my Life

This is seriously the hardest thing I have to write today. In my life (and basically, in everyone’s life) every person who supports you, who motivates and inspires you, who loves you deeply is an important person.

And because I am the middle child, I get loved greatly and everyone in my family supports me. I am so grateful to God for giving me such a loving family that it’s become hard for me to choose who is important or not. Everyone is important; my brother, my sister, my parents, my grandparents.

I can’t and won’t choose because it’s not fair. They all love me equally (well, my grandma loves me more than anyone else) but still, I don’t want to categorize anyone. However, if I had to choose an important person and not disappoint my family when they read this post, can I choose GOD? Because hey, without him, I wouldn’t be breathing now.

As a matter of fact, I give importance to everyone in my life. So, there’s no 1 important person and I’m glad I don’t have to choose.

However, I know many people think otherwise. If you do have an important person in your life, can you tell me who it is and why? I would love to know why you consider him/her important.

Until then,

Peace neighbors,

See you in my next post~
