How To Stay Productive All Day

In today’s article, I’m going to share some amazing tips with you that I have picked up in my journey to stop our biggest enemy; procrastination. It’s not easy to win, but if you strive and battle it out, you’ll eventually come out a victor. In simple words; you’ll get more work done by organizing your thoughts and schedule.

We’re all distracted by one thing or the other. Be it family, friends, pets, or just laziness. However, since the world has become fast-paced, with more and more people pushing us unto deadlines, we might lose our focus quickly and abruptly and end up doing a lot less work than we had intended to achieve.

Nowadays, we’re all so attached to social media platforms that we forget our main work. A true businessman/woman avoids procrastination at all costs and focuses more on how they can achieve their goal. With these simple tips, you too can walk on their path and become a productive person.

So without further ado, let’s get right into it!

Eat Breakfast!

Eating a good and hearty breakfast which consists of protein, vitamins, and calcium will boost your mind and make you active. It will help you work more because if you begin work before eating anything, your brain will go like, ‘where is my food?’, ‘Let’s work later and sleep for a little bit…’

We don’t want that, do we? Therefore, eating breakfast will energize you, wake you up fully, and boost your brainpower so that you can easily complete your tasks! They don’t just say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It’s crucial for your body to get its nutrients as soon as you wake up and not starve it.

Create A To-Do List!

A To-Do list can help you sort out and organize your thoughts and tasks. It will help you become less anxious and you can schedule your plans around the tasks you have at hand. By making a To-Do list, you can know what to do and when or if you have any appointments or urgent meetings that you have to attend to.

You can make a To-Do list before going to bed or while eating your breakfast and sipping your hot cup of joe.

Pro tip: It’s always good to carry a small notebook and pen around with you so that you can jot down your ideas, thoughts, and reminders on it. I usually prefer using books rather than the phone because a phone’s battery can easily run out but a paper’s battery never runs out! 😉 (sorry, that was a bad joke!)

Learn To Prioritize Your Work

In the entire day, you’re sure to have many distractions such as your sister calling you to watch Netflix with her, or your friends calling you to hang out with them, or even your pet wagging its tail to pet it or play ball with it. But, what you need to do is place your palm in front of them all and shake your head.

That’s because you have more important work to do than binge-watch on your favorite shows (also did you know that Sugar Rush Season 3 has come out?! I’m already on the fourth episode haha) You need to prioritize your work and get more done in a short period of time, but if you keep on distracting yourself–even if it’s for a short period of time–you will lose your productivity.

So, it’s better to say NO than to regret the unchecked tasks at the end of the day.

Take Short Breaks

I use the 60-10 method where I work for 60 minutes and then take a 10-minute break. It’s a useful method that will surely help you finish your tasks at hand in no time. In your 10 minute break, you can either talk to your friends or family members, you can do breathing exercises, listen to podcasts or you can just watch a funny clip on YouTube or something just to get your mind distracted for that small stretch of time.

Once you get back to work, you’ll be surprised at how fast you can work! If you’re a beginner, you can start from 30 minutes and then prolong the minutes as you go on and study more.

This way, you won’t be stressed and you’ll always have a lot more breaks.

Jot Down Your Notes And Ideas

The internet has a plethora of easy to use and free tools that can help you achieve productivity in no time. Tools such as Evernote, Google Drive, One Drive, Trello, and Slack can help you organize your thoughts and notes in no time.

Avoid Checking Your Mail

When you’re at work, avoid opening your mails or even scrolling through them. This will break the barrier you have created for your productivity and may result in exhaustion, stress, and laziness.

Avoid Multi-Tasking

This is one of the most and vital points you need to keep in mind. Multi-tasking will exhaust you quickly as if you’ve just run on a treadmill and you have no water to hydrate yourself! It will stress you out, make you anxious, and may even slow your brain from functioning well.

Therefore, if you avoid multi-tasking and do each task one by one by giving it your entire attention, then you’ll most likely get the job done instead of keeping it at the ‘In Process’ stage.

So these were some of the tips and you can either use all of them or use any one of them; nevertheless, your productivity is guaranteed!
