7 Activities To Do With Kids Amidst Lockdown
If you’re a parent and you’re tired of playing hide and seek, board games or tea parties with your child, then fret not, because you’ve come at the right place. Today, I’m going to share with you some activities which you can do with your kids and all the more enjoy the time together.
It’s going to be fun, crafty and your kids will love you for it! I know, parenting is hard and it takes a lot to make a child happy but trust me on this, these activities will keep them busy and in a way, it’s a good way to develop their brains and the friendship and love between you, the parent and the child.
You and your kid can team up and make a cardboard house with delivery boxes! You can paint it, decorate it and shape it however you want. You can even leave the imagination to your child and see how his/her dream house would be like.
Glow Stick Balloons!
For this amazing and fun activity that will bring giggles and smiles to your child’s face, all you need are mini glow sticks and a pack of balloons. Just put the glow sticks inside the balloon and blow them as big as you can. Then switch off the lights and enjoy a disco night!
Just grab a bunch of straws, some string and, scissors (make sure not to give the scissors to your little ones) and create a straw necklace that will make your kid look fashionable (maybe?) but joyful as ever! It will also keep them busy so this is the right time to head to the kitchen to prepare your meals or do the laundry.
Messy Art Project
Who doesn’t love paints, right? For this activity, just grab a bunch of white papers and several boxes of paints to create a fun but absolutely messy art project that mostly involves bare hands and maybe even legs!
*Spoiler Alert!* It will make your floor messy so make sure to put a large newspaper or an unused/old sheet on the floor before beginning the activity.
Living Room Fort
You and your kids can gather colorful blanket and make a fort of your own! You can decorate it however you want, play board games and even read them storybooks.
Popsicle Stick Crafts
I used to do this activity so much when I was a kid. It’s fun, playful and your kids would love it, trust me! All you need is a bag of popsicle sticks, paper, and glue. You can create so many shapes and scenes with it. The ideas are limitless!
This activity here is another of my favorite since all you need is some paints, paper, and vegetables that are cut in various shapes and sizes! Just dip the veggies in the paint and stamp it on the paper. However, make sure that your kid doesn’t take the veggie in his mouth!
I hope you liked this article and will try some of these activities with your kids as well! In a way, this lockdown has given us a chance to spend some quality time with our family so let’s utilize every second of it and make it memorable.
See you in my next post~
