Mini Review of TVXQ’s ‘The Chance of Love’ MV

Now that I think about it, I like all of TVXQ songs and I don’t even know why. Perhaps because Yunho and Changmin are charming, or maybe it’s just that their songs are absolutely catchy and difficult to NOT like it. Their songs are like magnet, you know…I wonder what dark magic they use to urge their listeners to listen to their songs.

Anyway, enough of my rambling. TVXQ’s new song, ‘The Chance of Love’ speaks of ‘a chance in love’…Yeah, sorry to put in just four words, but that’s what the song actually means. They mostly sing of how they are destined to meet, and if the girl obliges to be his girlfriend, he’ll show her a different perspective of the world. You know how a narcissist proudly sings a song while indirectly confessing his feelings to the woman he loves? Well, that’s how I felt the song was, and in fact, is—in a way.

But, my gosh…Are Changmin and Yunho really 30 and 32 years old? No one can even guess their right age because to me, they most certainly appear in their mid-twenties. I can’t even anymore…*inwardly cries loudly*

We all can expect an awesome and enchanting choreography and simple, yet appealing concept from TVXQ (always)
Their concept has a rich-man’s vibe to it. Although the MV doesn’t have a story in it (and I always prefer a MV with some kind of meaning and story) it’s enjoyable to watch and sort of makes your head bob to the EDM mix breakbeat mix popular rhythm and style.
I still can’t believe their age…But, you know what? For me, age doesn’t matter. If I have the chance, I would genuinely steal a rose and profess my love to them (Hm, I do like Changmin Oppa more, but Yunho Oppa makes my heart doki doki too…It’s so hard to choose…T-T)

{Woo woo
Woo woo

Artificial things are no fun
When our eyes meet
That’s how our conversation began
Come to me as if you’re being pushed to me

At this unrealistic situation, I’ve fallen into delirium
You’re not holding back, you shake me up strongly

All of the cells in my body scream that it’s you
This predetermined history fills up a page
How can I define this interaction with words?
It’s alright it’s OK
It’s destiny

Woo yeah yeah yeah
Woo it’s destiny
Woo it’s alright it’s OK
We’re destiny

So boring, it got old
Whenever women showed interest in me, I’m putting it away
I thought this would never happen to me
But, you arrest me

In my way, only one way, come and fall into me
I’ll show you a new perspective of the world

All of the cells in my body scream that it’s you
This predetermined history fills up a page
How can I define this interaction with words?
It’s alright it’s OK
It’s destiny

Woo yeah yeah yeah
Woo it’s destiny
Woo it’s alright it’s OK
We’re destiny

Now cast a spell with a whisper
So only I can see your eyes
Your eyes are falling for me like destiny
By my side, you’ll be the best

We’ll keep it together, we’ll fall in magic
every single day
This special feeling feels new every day
We will keep it together, we pray that
we own each other up all night
Follow me, however you’re pulled

All of the cells in my body scream that it’s you
This predetermined history fills up a page
How can I define this interaction with words?
It’s alright it’s OK
It’s destiny

Woo yeah yeah yeah
Woo it’s destiny
Woo it’s alright it’s OK
We’re destiny

Mini Review of Monsta X ‘Jealousy’ MV

Monsta X’s new EDM, alternative rock song, ‘Jealousy’ has made me listen to it twice because of its meaningful, yet relatable lyrics. The song is what the title says’ Jealousy.’ It speaks the inner thoughts of the man who is jealous to see the girl he loves be with someone else.

Monsta X’s concept and themes are always different, and that’s what has gotten them to reach the top so effortlessly. Their choreography is peppy filled with a hint of sassiness to it to convey what they are sincerely feeling. The MV was smooth and I could easily catch every rhythm of the song. The song was casual, nonetheless, it was a good hear and it kinda drives you to listen to it again (Don’t blame me, the song has its own unperceivable charm!)

{(Ye-ye-ye-ye-ye-ye-yeh)
You make me jealous baby

Me being this way
I know you’re enjoying it
As if you want me to see
Like tapping on my shoulders, ha ha funny
I thought I was special
I almost took it the wrong way
I was thinking and now my head is spinning
Why are you doing this to me?

(Ye-ye-ye-ye-ye-ye-yeh)
We’re not anything but what is this?
(Ye-ye-ye-ye-ye-ye-yeh)
Why do you keep coming into my eye?

A little, jealousy
The way you look at someone
Other than me
Jealousy
Stop talking to me about other people
Stop it

Jealousy baby jealousy
Jealousy baby jealousy

Baby who the X (ooh)
I’m a X (ooh)
I’m an angry goblin because of you
I’m a Red Hare, going to you out of jealousy
Keep going going going
I got it, the last out of the seven
Think these guys are better than me?
Now tell me
What are you feeling?
Just trust me and follow me, fly with me

(Ye-ye-ye-ye-ye-ye-yeh)
Why are you talking about Shownu?
(Ye-ye-ye-ye-ye-ye-yeh)
Making me jealous

A little, jealousy
The way you look at someone
Other than me
Jealousy
Stop talking to me about other people
Stop it

Wow, to each their own misunderstanding
What’s so fun about teasing me?
Wow, my imagination runs short
You’re so beautiful
I’m a little jealous, rat-a-tatta
All you other wolves, stop growling, baby
Where are you looking? Look here
All at once, my swagging swagging
Giving you my charm appeal

(Ye-ye-ye-ye-ye-ye-yeh)
I’m just curious about your true feelings
(Ye-ye-ye-ye-ye-ye-yeh)
I don’t even know anymore
At this rate
I might go blind with jealousy
If this was your plan
It worked very well
Jealous baby

A little, jealousy
Let’s get closer
Let’s fill this gap between us
Jealousy
I can’t even imagine you
Being with someone else

A little, jealousy
The way you look at someone
Other than me
Jealousy
Stop talking to me about other people
Stop it

Jealousy baby jealousy
Jealousy baby jealousy
Jealousy baby jealousy
Jealousy baby jealousy}

Mini Review of Stray Kids ‘District 9’ MV

Truth be told, Stray Kids have become my favorite group. They had captured my attention with their song ‘Hellevator’, but now they have captured my heart and soul with their new song, ‘District 9’ that breaks down all the typicality rhythms and beats and gives you a fresh tune to dance to. This powerful song speaks about getting to know yourself before judging others. It’s a simply, yet dynamic song that gives you the goosebumps and adrenaline rush to keep you going all day, and to repeatedly listen to ‘District 9’ that had 6 million views in 24 hours! Wow, that is dynamic, isn’t it?

The futuristic based MV had quite a story in it. Apparently, the idols are lab rats who are being locked and experimented on, however, because of an individual’s help (who is also an idol) they escape from the clutches of the evil scientists and end up in a place where they truly belong. This ‘experimental subject’ concept has been used and is still being used by the Kpop industry for a really long time, and I think every group goes through that stage of showing how powerful and firm they are in reaching the top without needing anyone’s help. Yes, evidently, the meaning is that deep. Not all K-pop songs are purposeless. Some have truth to it, while some have hidden points that you have to discover by yourself.

Although common, Stray Kids pulled off the theme pretty awesomely in their own style. The choreography is hyperactive and vivacious, and the EDM beats cadences ultimately compels us. I knew Stray Kids wouldn’t let me down and I hope they keep on making such awesome songs in the future as well!

Now, all I have to do is memorize their names, listen to their entire album, watch their shows and I’m good to go.

Mini Review of Insidious – The Last Key

So, I finally got to watch Insidious: The last key, last night with my family and being totally honest, I liked the movie. Because of the ratings given by many viewers, I thought it wouldn’t be good, but I don’t see any wrong in the movie that people gave it a dull 5 star rating.

Insidious: The last key, is about Elise, the psychic before she takes on Dalton’s case (the first part of Insidious) She gets a call from the owner of the house she used to live in as a child and decides to investigate his case after realizing that the demon haunting the house and its owner was the same demon Elise had innocently let into this world when she was a kid. With her two sidekicks, she unravels the mystery of the demon, but all the more discovers some devastating matters that are related to her childhood.

The movie didn’t have the creepy feeling like it did for the other parts but there were the surprises and the sudden movements that literally makes you shout and flinch a little. It did become a bit slow and uninteresting from the second half and the movie failed to keep its horror prickle, but because everything was going smoothly, I didn’t lose my focus.

The plot was interesting and sensible too, and I liked how they linked the previous Insidious parts together. It just gives us the in-depth of what really happened, why and when.

I will complain that at first the demon looked spine-chilling, but the more screen time it got, the funnier and less frightening it started to look.

Not withstanding what others say, I plainly liked the movie and I wouldn’t mind watching it again if I have to.

Mini Review of Super Junior ‘Super Duper’ MV

Super Junior’s song ‘Super Duper’ has a cheerful and hyper vibe to it. The song plainly speaks about being a Super Duper person and just enjoying your life; as in partying all night as if there’s no tomorrow. The song is pretty much meaningless but the Electro, Techno along with Trap beats and tempos, definitely makes it a party or a late-night club song!

The MV too is quite meaningless. It doesn’t have a story, rather the entire MV is based on random, colorful, old-school style illustrations that signifies the lyrics. At times, I felt that some of the images took us in a trance-like state and some honestly creeped me out, but for some reason, the video is fun to watch. Super Junior’s harmonization was fantastic, and I liked the auto-tunes that were adroitly incorporated.

It’s a different kind of music video that captures your sight, but obviously, many would just go, ‘WTH…’ because I did.
But anywho, isn’t that Super Junior for you?

Mini Review of The Walking Dead S8 Ep11 and Ep12

*Beware of spoilers*

Hey guys, so since I didn’t get the time to watch The Walking Dead until yesterday, I’m going to review the two episodes that I missed together. In my opinion though, I think the episodes are getting a bit uninteresting and I feel that they are stretching it a lot instead of ending it with a bang. I wish they would just end Negan’s character because he’s been in the scene for too long and it’s getting tide annoying. I’m hoping Rick or at least someone from the group or the Walkers themselves would defeat Negan and just get on with it. He’s the first villain to stay this long, isn’t he?

In episode 11 of The Walking Dead, titled, ‘Dead or Alive Or,’ After the fall of Alexandria and Carl, Darly takes on the burden to take the Alexandrians to Hilltop. Since the Saviors are everywhere on look out for them, Darly and his people take the dangerous route that eventually, led them safely to Hilltop. However, before that things get a little out of hand when Tara, who loathes Dwight for killing her girlfriend tries to kill him but in return, he saves her from getting found out by the Saviors and risks his life by leading them astray; away from Darly’s group.

One look on Daryl’s face and everything gets clear; Carl is dead. Poor Enid cries her heart out upon receiving the tragic news (she didn’t even have the chance to say goodbye to him)

At a loss for provision, Maggie has to make rough decisions at Hilltop to save her people from starvation.

Negan commands Eugene to make him ammunition for their big battle and promises him ease and comfort in doing so.

On the other side, Gabriel and Dr. Carson are heading towards Hilltop but because of Gabriel’s loss of eye sight due to the infection, matters get a bit messy. However, Gabriel doesn’t lose faith. The two of them; by the help of Gabriel’s sharp hearing senses, find a house in between the woods and repose there, only to find out that God is indeed leading the way. They find antibiotics for Gabriel, car keys and a map but once they receive this slight happiness, they are once more met with tragedy. Dr. Carson heads to the garage to see if the car is still there or not, but before he could reach it, his leg gets trapped in a bear trap and due to his loud screams, a dozen Walkers start to walk up to him to get themselves fed. He manages for a while but our blind hero, Gabriel (who has his faith increased) saves Dr. Carson. The blind and the crippled happily sit in the car and were about to head off on another road trip when unexpectedly, the Saviors find and capture them; ready to take them back to Negan. Gabriel still thinks that God is leading the way, and Dr. Carson begins to think so too but in quite a different manner…He tries to snatch the gun from one of the Saviors but in reflex the man shoots him, and Dr. Carson is dead, there and then. In front of Gabriel, who slowly begins to question his faith. Is God really leading the way…? I was glad though that Negan didn’t kill Gabriel or anything because I would’ve become so angry!  Instead, Negan brings Gabriel to Eugene thinking that perhaps, he could be of help to him. At first, Eugene feared that maybe Gabriel had let the cat out of the bag, but as a faithful servant of God, Gabriel said so otherwise; blaming it all on poor Dr. Carson. I seriously think that they unnecessarily killed the doctor because now Hilltop has got another doctor; Siddique. So, what I’m thinking is, a community can’t have two doctors, so they had to kill one… (-_-)

Negan plans on scaring the Hilltoppers with Walker parts and guts and entrails and he’s confident that this time, they’ll get on line and fear Negan like everyone does. But, with Rick who has nothing to lose, and with Maggie who’s changing the imprisoned hearts of the Saviors, will Negan really be able to save himself from the angers of all those he has hurt?

My rating: 5/10

—————————————————————————————————————————————–

Okay, so moving onto the next chapter, titled, ‘The Key’. Rick and Michonne arrive at Hilltop. Negan, with his group of irritating men, head over to Hilltop to maybe talk some sense into Rick and the others that all Negan wants is to save them and to work for him (like hell anybody would comply to that) but, something unexpected happens with Negan. While Rick is on the watch out for the Saviors, he sees Negan’s car too with the other groups and decides to freaking ambush him because he as heck doesn’t want to lose this opportunity of killing him once and for all without losing anybody else. He takes his vehicle and straight as hell crashes his van with Negan’s, who, upon surprise, loses control on his wheel.

I totally don’t dig Simon’s plan about being the opposite of Negan and all that crap about doing what needs to be done at the right time and moment (and damn, if Negan hears his plan, then Lucille’s in for some sweet treat!) but, I think Simon’s thoughts are going to be the downfall of the Saviors and Negan’s not to blame for that. Because Simon hates Negan too, he doesn’t search for him when Rick chases him into a zombie-filled basement where the two of them have the time of their life. Oh-ho! In this episode, Rick appeared to be the bloody villain. The chasing, the desperate shooting, the imitation of Negan’s whistling and Rick lighting up Lucille was hella intense! However, I did think that they prolonged it a bit with all the talks and fighting the zombies together while attempting to kill each other in the process. Unfortunately, Negan escapes and vanishes but only to be found by our one and only, Jadis, who will most likely kill Negan without having any second thoughts. I wonder what’s going to happen to our villain…Being honest, I think Negan’s villainism is nothing without Lucille and that he’s a total coward when it comes meeting face to face with his enemy. I mean, he runs and hides when he sees Rick when he should be standing firm on the ground and swinging his gut-dipped bat!

I liked Rick’s rage in this episode and since he has nothing to lose now, he might as well risk everything to end this Negan bed-time story that’s starting to get boring.

Maggie meets a new group of three who are bartering their significant knowledge for insignificant stuff. Georgie (the leader) along with her two companions, Hilda and Midge, discuss the key to a better future with Maggie, Michonne, Rosita and Enid. Maggie decides to take the group to Hilltop because of the abundant supply of food and refuses to accept their deal. However, Michonne calmly explains that they should free the group and go forward with the deal (that’s what Carl would’ve done) Eventually, because of Carl’s stand point, Maggie releases the group with the stuff they asked for and in return, Georgie gives her a bulky document titled, “Key to your future,” that has all the knowledge to make the world; Maggie’s community a better place to survive in. A future plan for the future. Georgie leaves saying that she’ll come back (not soon) but she will and when she does, she would want to see the better future with her own eyes. Maggie thanks her and for the first time in quite a long time, there’s a subtle smile on her face that says she believes there could be a future too; for her, her child and for her people.

Now, I can’t judge whether this group is good or evil, but at the moment, hope is all they all need to win the fight that’s coming their way. A bit of inspiration and they can open the door to a new home where there will be, no doubt, smiling faces welcoming them.

Mini Review of Wanna One ‘Boomerang’ MV

Wanna One’s new song, titled Boomerang is a typical love song that confesses of being deep in love with the woman and hoping to spend the rest of his life with her. Being completely honest, the song couldn’t make my heart race or even keep me focused. They were many tunes in its; EDM, Trap, Electro, and some betas did make my bob head, however, I can’t say that I liked the entire song. I don’t know, I just felt that the tunes were forced, and I felt that the vocalists too were slightly stiff in their singing. I don’t blame the singers, though. The song itself has turned out to be quite uninteresting to the ears and it makes me think twice to listen to it again.

Nonetheless, the MV does show the charismatic side of the idols. But, I have more complaints to be served…First off, the theme and concept they used for the MV has been used in previous K-pop songs, so it seemed dull and unoriginal. Secondly, though the choreography was powerful, it appeared strained; just like the song. And thirdly, I anticipated the song so much but it clearly disappointed me. I didn’t feel the excitement, the rush and the awe of it all. Guess, I just expected a lot from them after listening to ‘Energetic.’ I’m afraid I have to say that this isn’t their winning song…

Of course, these are my thoughts and I’m supposing most of you loved the song, but don’t hate me, alright? It’s just my thoughts and I hope you tolerate it (Do leave your thoughts about the song in the comments! I would certainly love to hear them~)

I might’ve saw a couple of flaws in the idols too, but I would rather not mention or judge them because I haven’t got the chance to know them properly (perhaps, one day I might)

Review of Riverdale S2 Ep16 ‘Primary Colors’

This week’s episode of Riverdale was so what I needed. It was so much more mysterious, nerve- wrecking, amusing and filled with utter tension and agitation. It was definitely my style and I couldn’t be more happy to see them give me what I truly wanted.

Poor Archie is stuck deep with Hiram Lodge and he can’t seem to get out of it because of the ‘pact’ he had made with him the other night. He’s even arguing with his dad regarding anything to do with the lodges and I’m not liking his attitude towards his family and friends one bit. I was glad to see Archie’s mom step in to save Fred from the Lodges stubbornness of not relieving Fred from their contract. Nonetheless, Hiram is moving Archie as if he’s a chess piece. But Archie has his own thinking and beliefs he lives up to and no matter what he won’t let anything happen to his family or friends.

If Hiram throws a basket, so does Archie and I think that what makes Archiekins, Archie.

Betty is evidently fed up with Chic and desperately wants to kick him out of the house. And all the more after finding out that he doesn’t have the blossom blood in him. Her mom mentions that Chic isn’t really her son and Betty kind of suspects FP to be his dad but phew…FP isn’t the psycho’s father…someone else is and that detail is kept a secret. Alice repeatedly takes Chic side as she believes that Chic really is her son and that he has been away from real love so long that it has now become Alice’s duty to give him some. As a mother, she’s right but as for me, I’m on Betty’s side. I want him out of the Cooper’s life as much as Betty does. Chic keeps getting uncanny; like heck, he knows all what Betty has done or has been doing. He’s such a complaint shit box (sorry for the bad language) I hope Betty does something real soon about him because this brother of hers is hiding his true intentions and it doesn’t seem sane.

An unhappy Veronica; due to her parent’s wrongdoings suffer hostility from the girls of Riverdale high. Because Hermoine is running for the president, she plainly orders Veronica to keep her head in the sand until the storm a.k.a her enemies, passes. But because V thinks that she’s in some kind of a holy battle against the good people, she tries to protect herself (theoretically) by attempting to become the Student Council President. However, things soon turn upside down and V is left hopeless and friendless. Betty too refuses to be her running mate because of the truth she had hid from them. Poor V did go through a lot in this episode although all her intentions were clean and for the well-being of others. Archie is someone who understands her situation and her one hundred percent supports her, but with other things keeping him busy; like dancing on the same stage with Hiram Lodge and complying to his motives, we didn’t get to see much of Varchie in this episode (boo hoo…)

Jughead, who loves eating more than anything Betty, goes on a hunger strike to save the South Side High from being turned into a damn prison. Hearing Jughead’s motivational speech, the young Serpents join Jughead in this tiring, cold and painful journey to save the one true thing that mattered to them all; mostly to Juggy because that’s where he was born and that’s where the memories of his family rest. FP is hand in hand with his son, giving him all the support he can to him, along with the other older Serpents. Everything seems to be going well; well, not really because somehow, at the back of his mind, Jughead knew that he was going to lose this battle and yet he fought. However, when Jug was successful on grabbing Hiram’s attention, there opens a wound between Archie and Jughead that distinctly seems difficult to heal. Archie does what he’s been told and that only burns Jughead’s already fired up heart. Nevertheless the disgrace, Jughead (out of the blue) decides to run for the Student Council President and asks Betty to be his co-president. Betty happily agrees but on one condition; that is if he lets her stay with him, away from her detestable brother.

Cheryl’s story was the most disturbing one. But before the disturbance, Toni joins the Vixens, and Cheryl invites her closest friends (the inner circle which she calls) to a slumber party at her house. The five of them enjoy a plain night while combing each other’s hair as in a horror movie, but soon after, Cheryl divulges that the slumber party was just an excuse and that she’s afraid of what might happen to her. That night, if it wasn’t for the unpleasant event that took place, Toni and Cheryl would’ve literally had their moment! (We were so close to having a Terly ship ready to sail!)

As she had suspected and expected, Nana blossom had eventually gone to the hospital (luckily, alive) due to a fall she took from the stairs. According to Penelope and the doctors, Nana was suffering from a Sundowners Syndrome, which clears the fact that she might’ve fallen by accident, but Cherly thinks so otherwise. She suspects that it was her mom and Uncle behind this devious act of theirs and she tries to mention this fact to the doctor but before she could, Penelope drags her away and from then on, things go darker…Her mom sends Cheryl to a mental hospital!!!! How wicked can she get?! Sending her own daughter to a place where she doesn’t belong and ruining her life like that! I’m so angry and sad right now…I wish someone would help Cheryl fight her nightmares! Poor Cheryl is now facing injections that makes your sane mind, insane and despicable nurses that are hard to fight. In a way, Cheryl is fighting her own holy battle but it leaves us all in doubt if whether she would be able to live through it or will she be another victim of the sinful land of Riverdale?

Everyone in this episode has suffered so much…These young souls have become weak and there is no one to help them except themselves. The choices they have to make on their own is itself mental torture and it only makes us wonder whether they will be able to save themselves or not? Whether they will team up again to fight in the same cause or not? And whether they will be able to dodge the unfortunate obstacles that are constantly coming their way like free gifts.

Sadly, we have to wait for the next episode to get the answers to all those questions *sighs*
